Mike and Becky’s August Newsletter
Wasibye Otya? (How are you this evening?)
Thanks for praying for us and supporting the ministry! We have had a productive month! 404 prisoners have been saved this month! Praise the Lord! Many more have rededicated and this does not include our sister ministry (we oversee) in Masaka, who led more prisoners to the Lord.
We have begun to train up our prisoner-leaders to teach some basic discipleship lessons that Pastor Kevin Jones gave to us. Kevin has been a blessing and will return in October with a team! Make disciples of all nations…
We have been called several times this month by wardens pleading for us to come and bring medical treatment for their sick prisoners. Just today, Ssentema prison called us telling us the government clinic has no medicines and they have many sick. We always do our best to respond to such emergencies. I tell you that lives are being saved by our nurses! Glory to God!
We were blessed to have some great visitors from Fairbanks Assembly (Please come back and spend longer with us!) and a missionary couple working in the Congo , the Roths’. It is always a treat to take visitors with us!
I broke down and bought some new tires after changing a flat in the dark on a muddy road at 5am! They were needed. The road conditions where we travel are often so rough!
This month we took a donation of clothing from Evergreen community church (Bothell) and our church here, Kawempe worship center, to Lugazi prison, where they have been VERY NEEDY. Thanks to the Churches! Thanks to Georgia who toted the stuff here! We also brought some recreation equipment…
My lovely wife has been helping us daily in the ministry, interpreting, helping the nurse and serving in any way needed. She is good help!
We have had a testimony that the Ladies Prison in Fort Portal has been healthy since we visited, a night and day difference! God is able!
This month Becky and I had our birthdays! We had a nice birthday with the Kaweesa’s and the nice people from Fairbanks assembly took an offering and gave us a gift to have a nice dinner! God is good!
Tomorrow, one of our ex-prisoners, who has recently graduated from Yesu Akwagala Bible College is being installed as the pastor of a new church in Bukasa village! It is a great testimony to God’s ability to change lives! He is soon to be married…
Please pray for us here! We do pray for you! We have a need for medicine in the ministry. Some months ago, some kind people helped us with money for Malaria medicine (the cost has skyrocketed). We have that need again. We made the money last as long as possible…
Lately, in a study time, God emphasized to me out of Isaiah chapter 1:26-31 that He is a God of restoration! Our job is to come to Him, and he will take care of the rest! (Mt.6:33) If you are believing God to restore you or something in your life, be faithful and trust, that is His nature, to RESTORE!
May God Bless You and Keep You,
