Psalm 133 tells us how good it is when brethren dwell together in unity. And throughout Scripture we see that God commands His blessing when His children work for unity. This past couple of months it has been a special joy to have a number of our study leaders come alongside the BEBF board and contribute toward a campaign where we have been able to distribute many free copies of The Passion of Jesus Christ. (Link to Prayer of Thanksgiving) This book, written by John Piper of Desiring God Ministries, is subtitled Fifty Reasons Why Christ Suffered and Died, and has been a useful tool of witness for Jesus, at this strategic time when Mel Gibson’s The Passion of The Christ has been used so mightily of God.

A number of our groups have chosen to open their meeting up to general discussions of the movie, and use the book for discussion times. We have seen several new people become a part of these times and even a few “seekers” have joined in. We continue to ask the Lord’s blessing on our study groups, and upon the movie’s audiences. We’re praying that all would be touched by God’s immeasurable love and forgiveness which is so aptly portrayed in this film. There are still a number of copies that we are looking forward to giving away at Open House and Recreation events in the future. Recent reports have spoken of the film already being quite effective in lands where the Gospel message has traditionally been silenced. We praise God for all He is doing in the earth.
